Nov 04, 10 / Coopepueblos Continued : In March, Blake and I volunteered on coffee farms in Costa Rica and pledged to design new coffee package labels and a website for the farmers and their cooperative. Despite a delayed start, I am delighted to be working on the logo for the Coopepueblos Cooperative while Blake creates Las Brumas (the mists).

Oct 28, 10 / HOBY : Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) is a nationwide program in which high schoolers are chosen to participate in a weekend-long workshop designed to inspire leadership, service, and innovation. The theme of Mid FL HOBY was "The journey is the reward." My shirt design features the journeying ships of leadership.

Oct 10, 10 / Gator Growl : With UF's Homecoming next weekend, I'm sure there are many students foregoing sleep in preparation for Gator Growl (the largest student-run pep rally in the world). As the Director of Art & Publications, I was exceptionally sleepless a few years ago. View the fruits of my labor here.

Oct 01, 10 / First Freelance : A brochure for The Florida Network of Victim Witness Services was the first freelance project I completed in collaboration with Blake Suárez. Slightly larger than a letter-size paper when open, this cross-fold brochure features a county map of Florida and addresses diversity through simple, patterned faces. This project was completed in March. More here.

Sept 30, 10 / Rooster Blisters : I am submitting to the London Print Club's Blisters Blackout poster show. Per the guidelines, the poster must be screen printed and must have a glow-in-the-dark element. According to my entry, "When the rooster crows, it summons the day and swallows the night."

--------

Sept 28, 10 / Recycled Design : In the spirit of recycling, I have taken a cue from Blake "Second-Time" Suárez to begin salvaging my old designs. This dictionary never had an impressive back cover, but the rooster is nice. I'm incorporating it into a poster.

Sept 22, 10 / Fall Harvest : In preparation for my favorite season, I am attending farmers' markets and cooking up a storm of gourds. I've already baked two pumpkins, much chayote, muscadine pie, and many apples. Cooking is obviously one of my preferred avocations; much of my design happens to be centered around it. (See Farmers' Market Quilt, Tofu Towels, Cooking Oil Editorial, and Old Cookbooks.)

Sept 21, 10 / Highlands, NC : A much-needed escape.

Sept 15, 10 / Human Robot : I have been interviewing a lot lately; I am now a machine at explaining my book. I made this logo a while ago, but it seems relevant now.
